"The Wizard of Oz" |

What a voice indeed! Besides her internationally acclaimed blockbuster, "TheWizard of Oz", (which still has children singing, "Somewhere Over the Rainbow," in households world-wide), Garland is also recognized for her devotion to many other roles as well. "Meet me in St. Louis" (1944), and "A Star is Born" (1954), are some of her other spectacular performances that soared her to first-rate stardom. Though times became rough and seemingly impossible for Judy Garland away from the lime-light and in her personal life, her struggle and strife to overcome the obstacles and her continuance to perform only caused millions more to fall in love with and respect the wonderful, one and only miss Judy Garland. Two other films she starred in, that were sometimes unrecognized but never to be overlooked, were "The Clock" (1945), and "Easter Parade" (1954). (CD) "The Finest all-round performer we ever had in America was Judy Garland. There was no limit to her talent." - GENE KELLY Judy Garland's daughter Liza Minnelli won the Best Actress oscar for "Cabaret." |
