Though Rock Hudson was a victim of criticism for his "bad acting" at a 1948 screen test, he found the strength to rise above it, and became one of the most shyly witty male actors of the 1950's and '60's. In 1959's "Pillow Talk", Hudson provided Doris Day with grace, and she unto him a teasing wit. Other great films are 1961's "Lover Come Back", 1958's "The Tarnished Angels", and 1955's "All That Heaven Allows." Perhaps one of Hudson's most underrated performances was in 1956's " Giant". Overshadowed by the luminous James Dean, Hudson was cast aside during recognition time. Yet his performance was brilliant, witty, and nonetheless completely remarkable. (CD) Rock's Home
