PLOT SUMMARY...
When the Japanese buy Delta City, Robocop has his hands full.
QUICK SCAN...
This film could be compared to "Robocop 2". Robert Burke
("The Unbelievable Truth") fills former Robocop Peter Weller's
shoes surprisingly well. Nancy Allen is solid once again as Robo's partner.
The Robocop outfit is cool as usual. ROBOCOP 3 features action and FX.

The Review:
Director Fred Dekker's ROBOCOP 3 is decent, and better than "Robocop
2".
Robert Burke ("The Unbelievable Truth") fills former Robocop
Peter Weller's shoes surprisingly well. I guess the makeup and suit
played a more important role on Weller's two "Robocop" outings
than I realized.
Nancy Allen is good once again as Robo's female partner. She brings
appropriate toughness to lines like, "I'll make a deal with you,
tough guy. If you want to eat the tie, keep it up."
Gifted actor Rip Torn ("The Larry Sanders Show") gives a surprisingly
so-so performance. He occasionally brings some fun spin to lines like,
"Kiss my freckled butt: you're fired." Mostly, however, he
scowls and yells.
The Robocop outfit is cool looking as usual. Robocop was Designed and
Created by Rob Bottin
The Story, in which Robocop joins up with urban rebels who are battling
evil "Rehab" cops, is much better than "Robocop 2".
The Screenplay is by Frank Miller and Fred Dekker, with Story by Frank
Miller (based on characters created by Edward Neumeier & Michael
Miner).
A scene where Robo battles an evil Japanese humanoid robot is well staged
and exciting. It's my favorite scene in the film.
The film's Music is relentless and intense. The Original Score is by
Basil Poledouris.
The film's Photography is crisp and hard edged. Particularly good is
a hand held camera sequence as a little girl, clutching a Robocop action
figure, is chased through urban rubble by a bad guy cop. Gary B. Kibbe
gets the Director of Photography credit.
ROBOCOP 3 should be fairly watchable for most Sci-Fi viewers. Fans of
the original "Robocop", who were let down by "2",
will probably enjoy ROBOCOP 3.
