After working in a circus, Wallace Beery took up acting and became famous for his tough, ugly, slow-thinking, easy going characteristics. At one time Wallace Beery was married to Gloria Swanson. Noah Beery was his half brother. Wallace Beery was nominated once before for THE BIG HOUSE (30).
