ABOUT DIANNE WIEST (1948- ) After doing stage work, Dianne
Wiest made her screen debut in 1980. However, she didn't really grab
critic's attention until her role as an 1930's hooker in Woody Allen's
THE PURPLE ROSE OF CAIRO, who was so impressed with her preformance
that he cast in her several more of his films. In 1989 Dianne Wiest
received a Supporting Actress nomination for her role in PARENTHOOD.
