Originally known as: "The Biograph Girl". D.W. Griffith got her started in films. Some believe that she was the most popular movie star ever. Mary Pickford was one of the co-founders of United Artists. Many classic silents, including: MADAME BUTTERFLY REBECCA OF SUNNYBROOK DADDY LONG LEGS POLLYANNA LITTLE LORD FAUNTLEROY COQUETTE was Mary Pickford's first sound film, her other talkies include: THE TAMING OF THE SHREW KIKI SECRETS Douglas Fairbanks was her first husband, followed by Buddy Rogers, who was her leading man in 1927's MY BEST GIRL. Mary Pickford received a special Oscar in 1976. |
